Wine nice food ok. Nice waitress. Everything else dreadful. The most disgusting toilets I've ever experienced. More than one Poo on the floor no toilet seat stank. NOT ACCEPTABLE!! . : Horrible
November 2006 We were on a house hunting expedition in the South of France and had some appointments set up with a French estate agent in Carcassonne. We had agreed to meet around 11.00 a.m. but hadn 't realised this was to set the plan for the afternoon because at 12.00 noon the agent was going for lunch, not very French!!!. So there was nothing for it really, we headed into the city center had a good mooch around and happened upon Place Carnot and the lovely little bistro called 'Bistro Florian '. The place was absolutely bustling and we thought at first there wasn 't a table but then the waiter called us and pointed to a table right in the corner inviting us to take a seat. The ambiance was delightful, people chatting the waiters running around taking orders and more than the odd bottle of wine being popped open. Both my wife and I ordered salads and I went for the Foie Gras as I had never had it before. It was very simple with a light dressing that as it turned out transformed the salad into something special and before I knew it I was mopping up the last of the dressing with my French bread and licking my lips. I am not that much of a salad person but I can honestly say it went down like English fish and chips. So would I recommend this little place, yes I would, for atmosphere, service and food which were all brilliant.
I just went to the discovery for a simple coffee; I stayed there for a while to read, warm and dream in front of the old square Carnot, the most beautiful location of the old bastide town of Carcassonne. Beautiful modern, impeccable and good aloi interior architecture; antique and old stone ceilings also on the first floor. I'll be right back.
I recommend the fisherman's linguins: a slaughter! Not to mention the reception, the service: up!
