Casa Vieja - Carrollton

We've been coming to this place for years just for the empanadas because we absolutely love them. They used to be huge and only cost $2, but now they're quite small and no longer worth the $4 price tag. We will be looking for a closer spot that offers them for less.

I visited with several of my girlfriends. It was our first time and our waiter took the time to make suggestions and explain popular dishes. He was so helpful and made our experience really great! Several of us ordered the juice smoothies. I got the guava and I’m still dreaming about it. One girlfriend got the soursop and she was so happy because she had not tasted it in years. I started with the beef empanada and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. It topped each bite with this amazing sauce they had on the table. I got the mini Bandeja Vieja as my main and it was so good. Everyone loved their food and each plate had huge portions. I’m definitely coming back!

Great Colombian food. Authentic. Empanadas are great appetizers. The food is fresh. Gotta try it if you are in Dallas. Staff is very nice and professional. Clean.Kid-friendliness: They made our toddler feel welcome. She liked the food.

The food tastes good. It's a little pricey, compared to Colombian restaurants recently visited in Houston and New York. Like 4 bucks for a single empanada or 6 dollars for a juice is a little over the top. Food portions could also big a little more generous. Photo is an example of a very small plátano side.

I ordered the churrasco for $37 but received a regular sirloin instead. When I asked the waiter about it, his expression spoke volumes—he clearly knew what I was referring to but had no explanation. During the 45 minutes I spent there eating, he never returned to check on me. Two other staff members came to deliver my dish and bring the bill. I chose not to make a fuss, but this will definitely be my last visit to this restaurant. I can't shake the feeling that they're being dishonest.
