Food options are not that many but the quality is excellent. Very good choice to restore your energy after roaming the streets of Evora.
Excellent savoury and sweet pastries, a few simple lunch dishes and a very service-minded mid-aged lady behind the counter who helped us steer through the menu and pick the right things. Nice courtyard sitting area, fado on the music system .... And free wifi
We were looking for something like tapas for lunch, and this was the perfect place. They serve full meals as well, but we thoroughly enjoyed sitting in the shaded courtyard and enjoying small salads and good bread. I will return.
If you've been to Lisbon and have tried the Pasties de Belem and truly loved them, these pastries which can be found in this treasure trove of a little cafeteria at the Pateo de Sao Miguel will make you fall in love with true Portuguese pastries all over again! They have some of the best pastries we've ever tried not just in Portugal. The pasties de nata were truly wonderful and a real pleasure to bite into. The filling is not too sweet and just has the right consistency (not runny). The crust is flaky and crunchy and they are always served warm. The empada was yummy with succulent chicken and mushrooms. The cheese and almond pastries were also wonderful. We loved them so much we went back on consecutive days and even packed some for our road trip. A definite must try!
We stopped here for a coffee, and wow! The Patéis de Nata are the best! Just as good as the famous Patéis de Bélem. Also the view is spectacular, so highly recommended.
