Went in for breakfast. Took forever to get a menu and had to ask. The staff were more concerned with having long conversations with their friends. There were times when one staff member was essentially doing nothing why there was a whole line of people waiting for coffees. Had to wait to pay and leave. Not impressed with the food either.
We really enjoyed the coffee and contemporary menu. We also enjoyed the cosy and quiet environment and appreciated the opportunity to read the papers whilst we waited.
They say they are vegetarian friendly but they don't really accommodate a vego unless you pay extra.I asked for the poached eggs without the bacon but "could I have a slice of avocado instead?" Yes, was the answer but it will cost you extra... WTF? Surely a slice of avocado is cheaper than a slice of your fancy Istra bacon? The waiter then informed me, being vegetarian, I should get the smashed avo dish and add eggs as an extra (at a cost of about $22) Because obviously I hadn't seen that dish on the menu... How does F off sound and for that I will order toast and coffee and write this review? Good old fashioned country service never hurt a business...
A table for two,Saturday evening. A good and interesting menu with a blackboard to add even more interest. The wine list is good, but too over the top to match the food. Tables are small and close together, it was difficult to manage the glasses, dishes etc. We shared the okonomiyaki for a start which was great, and then had a main each, the food was fine, but the wait staff were aloof and disinterested.
