Cafè Charmant - Catania

This looked idyllic, under the sunshades neaxt to the piazza. The waiter spoke no word of English, which was really surprising as most guests were Amrican, German or British. I can only presume that is a pretence to avoid the discussions after complaints about the food. We ordered Bruschetta and Prosciutto Melone as starters. The Bruschetta was tasteless and was covered with Rocket Salad that was unwashed, shrivelled and blackened by age on many leaves. I wouldn't present that to my family at home, never mind serve it at a restaurant. Prosciutta was tasteless, a cheap cut. The only saviour was the juicy sweet melon. Presentation was very poor. Our main was a shared pizza, and once again it had the age old rocket salad, and no other item had any flavour, let alone the pizza itself which must have had the blandest cheese and tasteless tomato sauce applied to it. the finale was when my wife pulled a hard sharp piece of plastic from her mouth that looked like the end of a biro-pen. The waiter just took it away and never came back. The took 50 cents off the bill, which is a disgrace. In a decent restaurant the chef would have been out apologising. Terrible, terrible food.

Absolutely horrendous. Pasta swimming in oil, ordered a beef steak they gave us a pork chop full of fat, cold chips, not even the salad was eatable. The most disgusting toilets I have seen in my life. 100x worst then a public toilet at any train station. It had real poo splashed all over behind the wall under the flush. Most disgusting thing ever. If their toilets are like that I can only imagine what the kitchen must be. NO STARS for this place. DO NOT GO THERE!!!!! The waiter that served us was extremely rude and a con charging extra service and drinks which were already included in the price but I only wanted to leave that place so I didn't even fight it.

Me and my friends were really disgusted the place is filthy no other words to describe it !!!! No one should even imagine to go there.

Worst Arancine and Cannoli we had during our stay in Sicily. Dirty glasses and horrible restrooms. Would probably be closed already if in a different location.

Absolutely horrible place that only survives because it is placed in a tourist area. Toilet facilities are apauling, dirty, discusting, no soap, no toilet paper. When we complained about the toilet the staff were first ignorant, would not provide soap and paper (it's finished), and then they became rude so we paid for our drinks and left. I have never been treated like this in a restaurant/cafe. Avoid.
