Cicchetteria Glera - Catania

We weren't dreadfully hungry so determined to do a bit of a wine bar crawl with this place being our final stop before returning to a wine filled slumber. Upon arrival we decided to sit inside the winebar itself and were greeted by the friendly guy running the place. Although intending on only a single drink and a few snacks we ended up staying for a few glasses of Red and White (both Etna) and the cheese board with cold cuts of meat. You really do get a lot of food for your money and we sat and whiled away an hour or two before heading home to sleep. The owner/manager was really nice and managed on his own tables both inside and out.

Magic atmosphere with excellent wine delicious “cicchetti”. The owner Alessio is very friendly and well prepared to serve in whatever you want. Perfect place to visit in Catania!

Arguably one of the best wine bars that I have ever visited! The quality of the wine is exceptional and well worth paying €5 or €6 a glass. The proprietor introduced us to a wonderful Sicilian grape called Catarotto. So good we ordered a bottle of this along with the 10 piece appetizer for €12. So good we came back the following night when there was jazz out front. Wonderful experience! We will be back!!

A small place not so far away from the main street, worth of visiting. Great quality of wine (adequate price) nice snacks and amazing atmosphere. Great conversation with owner makes visit there more amazing.

Having booked an AirBNB nearby I walked past this Wine Bar several times before deciding to go in. After 5 minutes I was on first names with the Owner who makes every guest at home. Each evening after that as I was on my way home Glera became the Nightcap location. A delightful place with a good selection of typical wines from all of Italy.
