It's for all tastes. this success only happens from time to time, you must be patient. I'll be back without hesitation.
We are happy with our four-day meal. Two children, two adults. We chose the children's raclette. And we grew up with the gaule. The restaurant is your pretty one. employees are pleasant and with little care.
I’ve only been here for a quick waffle and hot chocolate so I can’t really comment on the hot food at La Taverne du Gaulois but what I did have was very good. The waffle was crispy with plenty of nutella and the hot chocolate was rich and creamy (not at all watery like some can be) with lots of chantilly. Whilst it is self service (so a bit annoying to have to walk around in ski boots) it was quick and the food was good so I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a snack whilst on the slopes. It would be my restaurant of choice for a snack at Chamrousse 1750.
This is a great spot to get lunch after a busy morning skiing. The service is good and the food is fine. There is quite a queue at busy times and it can be difficult getting a table if there is a big group, however, the staff are very accommodating!
We were in Chamrousse last week for a fantastic sun filled week of skiing. We discovered this gem of a restaurant on the first day of our holiday and returned there every day. Although the slopes weren't that busy, the restaurant was! So try and time your lunch break around the crowds either an early lunch, or enjoy the slopes for a bit longer and have a late lunch. There are pizzas, croquet Monsieur, hot dogs, burgers and the specials tartiflette (a maz ing! , lasagne, beef stew, and more. And the portion sizes are enough to keep the most adventurous skier topped up and ready to go for the afternoon! The staff are such a friendly, happy group of people and cope with the large queue admirably. George makes and cooks the pizzas and croque Monsieur. The tables outside in the sunshine fill up fast and the view of the mountains is beautiful to watch while you fill up and get ready for an afternoons skiing. I have no hesitation in recommending this divine restaurant. Miss it at your peril!
