I have been here three times, and every time I have been a little disappointed with the food. The last time I went, which was just a week ago, I ordered the chicken adobo with rice and lumpia. I will say, the lumpia was quite tasty and it was pretty fresh. However, the chicken was super mediocre. It was very dry and flavorless, and the rice was overcooked. I was expecting a lot more from this dish considering the worker told me that it was the most popular one. I wanted to give Manila Street another chance and try a different protein to see if I liked this place better (the other two times I had the pork), but I don't think I will be eating here again when I come to Dairy Market.
Don't be fooled by the name..... this is an upscale food court with lots of options..... during the brief period we were in Charlottesville we actually went twice. Members of our group tried Citizen Burger and The Pizza Restaurant. Both got high marks from our family.
Manila Street Restaurant is an absolute culinary gem, and it's easy to see why it's become a local favorite. From the moment I stepped inside, I was transported to the heart of the Philippines, and the dining experience that followed was nothing short of spectacular.Let's talk about their Filipino Chicken BBQ tender, juicy, and infused with that unmistakable smoky flavor. It's an explosion of taste that dances on your taste buds, making every bite an unforgettable journey into the heart of Filipino cuisine. The succulent, perfectly grilled meat is a masterpiece, and it's a must try for anyone visiting. The Filipino Pork Belly BBQ is another star on their menu. The melt in your mouth pork belly, glazed with a sweet and savory marinade, is a tantalizing delight. It's proof that sometimes, the simplest ingredients can create the most profound flavors. The balance of tenderness and that slightly charred exterior makes this dish an absolute triumph. And how can I forget the Lumpia and Pancit? The Lumpia, those delicate spring rolls filled with a delectable mixture of vegetables and sometimes meat, offer a delightful contrast in texture and taste. Crispy on the outside, yet bursting with flavors on the inside. The Pancit, a comforting and fragrant noodle dish, showcases the restaurant's commitment to authenticity. It's packed with vibrant, fresh ingredients and delivers a harmonious blend of flavors in every forkful. The ambiance is cozy, and the staff's warm hospitality adds to the overall experience. Manila Street Restaurant is not just a place to eat; it's an expedition for your senses. Whether you're craving authentic Filipino flavors or embarking on a culinary adventure, this restaurant is a must visit. It's a testament to the richness and diversity of Filipino cuisine, and I can't wait to return to savor these dishes again. Manila Street Restaurant has truly won my heart, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience.
This is a great food court place! We went to Basta Pasta and Moo Thru, but if we had more time in the area, we could have easily come back several more times to get food from many of the other places. There’s a wide variety of types and styles of food there. Both Basta Pasta and Moo Thru were excellent. Definitely recommended if you’re in the area!
