The interior is fine, the garden is open and a pleasant setting to eat in. The staff are attentive and the service is good. Unfortunately the food is ordinary, nothing special and the price is too high for this kind of restaurant. We did have cocktails to start, four various starters, four burgers and four desserts. The French don't know how to cook a chip, the café gourmand's were disappointing and the bill at 186 euros is far too expensive, just two glasses of wine were serve. There is a nearby chateau that for a little extra, you are served with aperitifs, four courses and two bottles of wine, digestives, and coffee, where the food is superb, the setting and staff are exceptional. For perhaps 30 euros extra for four people you feel that you have eaten somewhere special. We never left Le Bonnieure with this feeling, it was just another eating house. Overall feeling, disappointment. We rarely eat out in France as we are generally disappointed, unless we go to a special restaurant, We cook better ourselves and have far more variety. Perhaps our expectations are to high. Buy the way, we have lived in France for 19 years, which add up to quite a lot of French restaurants eaten in.
Cosy shaded backyard terrace. Nice steaks, handcut steak tartare with capers, pickle, onion and a raw egg DIY seasoning and an interesting small beer collection. Tasty!
We have lived nearby for the last 7 years and have tried this restaurant on and off whilst we have been here and have had various experiences.. what I MUST say is that our meal this evening was absolutely superb!!!! attentive staff, excellently cooked food and wonderful surroundings..
Push the door of this restaurant to the discreet facade in the large hunting street and you will not be disappointed: very nice reception, simple but copied dishes and well prepared with real home trims (frites and excellent ratatouille) to be enjoyed in the small flowered garden at the edge of the fountain. reasonable prices on the card at night. There's a world, it's safe to book!
