Bar man unapologetically, offered us a few bottles of beer to choose. No draught on tap. The place was in complete darkness other than a couple of windows letting in a small amount of sunshine in that split second. I understand electric has become expensive but if you had an accident here I don't think the owners would survive the compensation claim let alone see you to call for an ambulance. Did manage just about to see a bottle of Magners in a wine cooler to be fair. Lighting was thanks to some tacky blue fairy lights around some bottles of spirits. Used the toilets which had NO lights. I had to search the two toilets for loo roll in the dark. Hot tap not working and the ridiculous amount of hand soap remaining had been excessively watered down. Back to the huge paper roll to dry my hands. 2 Budweiser bottles nearly £8. HSE would have a field day in here. I have no idea how this place has 4.5 reviews. Obviously running it down into the ground. Don't waste your money. Would have scored nil if I could.
You could come here with anyone and be blown away by the greatness! You will leave with a spring in your step and knowledge about water you never knew existed. A MUST DO. We tasted water from all over the earth, awesome spontaneous experience and tasted the great local ales! The owner Dorran wa so welcoming and kind please come visit this place if you are reading this, the only thing you’ll regret is that you didn’t come sooner !
My running club visits the Crag at this time every year, we're always made very welcome. The beer is good, the food is exactly what you want after a run in the hills nutritious, tasty, warming and filling....and very sensibly priced.
After having high hopes for one of my locals it would appear this place has gone to the dogs it used to make so welcome. Specials board consisted of crisps of the day and no decent beer. Avoid.
Came in July 2019 with 5 mates and spent the best day ever in this pub. They could not have made us more welcome.
