Called in today to have a brew, bought some freshly baked bread as the smell was fantastic. Wasn't disappointed
From the outside the café looks really inviting, so out of curiosity we called in. Wow, just as impressive on the inside. Absolutely spotless clean and the smell of freshly baked bread was just amazing. Having an open kitchen watching the staff make the bread was really interesting. They were proper friendly as well and came over to our table to explain about how they baked them. We just had soup and a sandwich each which were super fresh and incredibly tasty. They also host different events for the community which is brilliant. The food was that good, we ended up buying some loaves and pastries to take home. Definitely be back here when we are next in the area.
Open only six weeks, this bakery and cafe is a lovely addition to Stockport. The bread is all prepared on site and is excellent. My soup was hot and it was no trouble when I asked for brown bread to accompany it. Hubby really enjoyed his toastie and the coffee was excellent. The Kitchen is charity run and provides training and employment to people with learning difficulties. The cafe is comfortable and clean and nothing was too much trouble for the very pleasant staff. We will be returning next time we are in Stockport
Today was my first visit to The Kitchen, which is a new cafe with its own bakery on site. You can see the staff making all the bread, muffins, rolls and so on through glass panels while eating the results of their baking in the other half of the cafe! Pure Innovations, who run it, employ several staff who have learning disabilities, and the cafe is really accessible, so perfect for wheelchair users or parents with buggies and prams. I really enjoyed the home made soup, and of course the bread, as did the family when I took it home it disappeared really quickly. I'll be back for more!
