The Old Chippy - Chester-le-Street

Loved the food. And the child's fish bites and chips were great value

I recently moved to the area and was on the lookout for a new favorite fish and chip shop. My search ended last night at The Old Chippy in Perkinsville. I was impressed with their chunky, white cod with light, crispy batter, perfectly cooked chips, and the best mushy peas I've had in a while. The friendly, banter-filled atmosphere, with occasional comedic sing-alongs from the staff, made the experience even better. I will definitely be coming back for more.

This is a great traditional fish and chip shop where everything (except the chips) is freshly cooked to order. They are always busy, ensuring the chips are always fresh. They offer daily specials, children's dishes, and old school sodas. The restaurant is very clean, making a good impression as soon as you walk in the door. The best part is the fantastic crispy batter on the fish, the best I've ever had!
