Matane Japanese Dining - Chesterfield

We've lived in the neighborhood for years, and we finally dined at MaTaNe last night for the first time. We were thoroughly impressed! The sushi rolls, yaki soba, miso soup, and salad were not only delicious but also very affordable. What really surprised us was the gyoza appetizer we ordered—it was outstanding! The flavors were exceptional, likely due to their unique use of spices. The service was attentive but never felt intrusive. We're definitely planning to return!

My wife and I absolutely love the sushi at this restaurant. We try to visit every couple of weeks. The staff is consistently outstanding, and the food is fantastic. This was the first place we dined at after my wife had our baby, and it was well worth the nine-month wait. If you're looking for sushi in Chesterfield, definitely check this place out!

Absolutely outstanding restaurant! The service was excellent, and the food was even better! I usually judge sushi places by their chirashi bowl, and this one did not disappoint. The slices of fish were fresh, large, and offered a great variety. The unagi was quite good, and the spicy bibimbap came in a generous portion. The grilled mackerel was massive—much bigger than I expected—and had fantastic flavor! Although they forgot the rolls we ordered, they made up for it by treating us to a complimentary dessert. The fried ice cream and mochi ice cream were both phenomenal, especially the green tea-flavored fried ice cream, which was my favorite. Overall, it was an excellent experience!

MaTaNe is a hidden gem. It's a cliché to say that you don't want to make a place public, because then it will be too crowded, but this is absolutely true here! The sushi is excellent, fresh and delicious. The kitchen is Japanese and Korean, with Bento boxes right next to bulgogi, and it is always delicious. Everything comes from the kitchen hot from the stove and it is fantastic.

The food was pretty good. I had the Korean beef rice bowl, and I loved it. My co-workers had miso and weren't quite as impressed, but still enjoyed it. The inside was nice, clean, and spacious. The service was great. Will be going back.
