Great food and service, good wines, live music and a really relaxed atmosphere in Wigwam. Had lunch a few times in Taste of The Plains, fresh yummy salad bar and quick menu got me in and out and back to work with a full belly :
I’m a woman in her 50ies who enjoys traveling alone. I can instantly feel a vibe of a place within the first 5 minutes, and that’s a good indicator on how much time I’ll spend there! Well, the Taste of The Plains was a super chill, comfortable spot for me and I’d definitely recommend putting it on your list when visiting Cheyenne! Del, the manager and his lovely lady we’re completely welcoming. Thank you so much!
Was two years ago with my son, forget to give an assessment. Beautiful place, huge rooms (our room anyway I have read some others, are small), historically interesting (reviewing why the elevator is so tiny), but a bit old and a little shady (not dirty only old and a bit worn in places); though, they worked at improvements. The staff was excellent. Only stayed one night and wished they told me when we checked in what I might want to experience because I had the surprise that night. I woke up to hit the head in the wet hours, four dark thirty or so, and when I saw groggily looking at the foot of my bed, a woman sat there in a long white dress. She seemed more etheric, I could see through her. I stared at her and concentrated my eyes and thoughts, I still slept and dreamed. The thing is, in a few seconds I was far awake and she was still sitting there with her long dark hair flowing over her shoulders and her dress, and she turned to look at me. I remember she brushed her hair. Maybe it took half a minute or more. Then she was suddenly gone. The next morning when we drove to the elevator, we met a couple and chat briefly. The guy of the two asked us if you see the ghost... He then told me that the check in the employees had assured him that the place was visited by a spirit of a woman!!! No one had mentioned this to me or my son before this moment and I had never heard of this hotel before we arrived to Cheyenne the day before. We chose it because it was in downtown where we wanted to be near some places to eat and so we could walk a bit. This was a completely unexpected and amazing experience; I will ask myself more and more whether it was a real spirit if they had any kind of hologram projector, or if I dreamed him and then randomly the ghost story was told; but as I said, after two seconds or so, I was far awake on my eyes and it took at least half a minute. One thing I should add, they were dog friendly and my dog weighed about 48 pounds at the time so that they accept quite large, not only the 20 pounds. or less than most other hotels. I don't remember if they accused my Mongrel Skye, but if they did, it was minimal.
Beautiful lobby and very informative about history. So much to read and see. Large central location makes it easy to get everything from a new pair of boots or trousers to an amazing cup of coffee to a new tattoo. Everything is within walking distance.
