Cinta Raya Restaurant - City of Knox

We had a great experience at this restaurant, with excellent Malaysian dishes and attentive service from Shirley and her staff. We highly recommend it for delicious food and good value.

Having experienced Cinta Raya in a different suburb in the past, we were pleased to find it in Scoresby. Went for lunch on a Thursday in late May. Husband had lunch special chicken and rice, I had Nasi Lemak, something i have eaten a thousand times. It was cold on arrival, and generally small portion. It was wasnt the worse meal ive ever had, so we ate what we could and went to pay and leave. Server behind counter, a lady, actually walked towards the table we had vacated , pointing, You havent even finished your meal! . Its a small space, other diners stopped to look. I was mortified. So i told her quietly it was cold and not to our taste, despite having had this exact meal a thousand different times in other places. She then crossed her arms and proceeded to admonish us for not finishing, stating that if we dont like rice why did we order it? etc. For the service, or should i say serve of sarcastic humiliation in front of other diners i would suggest not to bother. If you dont like the truth as to why your diners didnt finish their meal, dont ask. I would like to point out we paid, and would have without comment, had this server not demanded and humiliated us.

The restaurant has convenient parking in front. The menu offers a variety of tasty dishes, including appetizers and side dishes. The staff is friendly and provides fast service. We ordered a few appetizers, main dishes, and side dishes. The food was served nicely and tasted delicious. Since we were dining with a large group, the owner waived the BYO wine corkage fee for us.

Placed an order amongst the lockdown crisis for $70 worth of food can’t believe the delivery charge. Very poor outcome. Delivery fee for that amount of money should be free considering. Shirley sorry very inconsiderate of you. Not happy at all especially to us loyal customers .

The food was nice well cooked with very good service BYO the menu was not to expansive and at the end I had a banana fritter with ice cream I had not had for many years “yum” Prices were good
