They have basic Canadian food, drinks and good wines. We had the steak and it was very good with a nice sauce and onions on it. We took the extra and made sandwiches for picnics! The service was good and we loved the soup.
My family and I were recommended to visit this restaurant by the owners of Clearwater Springs Ranch, and we were pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome we received. The restaurant had a bustling atmosphere and the owners, who like us, were from the UK, had a fantastic team working alongside them. The portions were quite large, so we would recommend sharing dishes in the future. After a long walk, we returned the next day for a drink and enjoyed the cozy lounge area. We highly recommend this restaurant to others visiting Wells Gray National Park, especially if you have a big appetite.
Six years ago, we stayed at the lodge here and enjoyed the food. When we visited Clearwater this time, we decided to drive into the park to dine here once more. We were not let down. The food was excellent, freshly made, with a selection of vegetables that we had been missing at other restaurants. The portions were generous, but we managed to share a delicious dessert and watch the hummingbirds again.
Helmcken Falls lodge and restaurant. We stayed a few nights to visit the nature park and saw a black bear! The rooms on the Lodge's site are a bit basic and oldfashioned but clean. Beds and shower are good. Restaurant: not much choice and also a bit basic but well prepared. Hummingbirds in front of the windows!
I had a gourmet meal from appetizers to dessert at this restaurant! It was the best meal I've had in Clearwater and I highly recommend it to anyone. The service was friendly and informative, and the view of hummingbirds and mountains was spectacular. I will definitely be returning.
