Little Pit is a charming family-owned restaurant, and that personal touch really shines through. The staff were wonderfully friendly, making us feel like part of their family. They offer a buffet for both lunch and dinner, as well as menu options if you prefer. Today's buffet featured chicken fried steak, barbecue sausage, and catfish, along with three or four vegetable options, a salad, a drink, and dessert—all for under $10. What an amazing value! Just a heads up: don’t come expecting a gourmet dining experience. This place is all about hearty, home-style cooking, and it was truly delicious. We will definitely be returning!
The brisket was a bit better, but not by much. Although it was clearly smoked, it was extremely dry. Perhaps we just caught them on an off day. The sausage was the standout among the three meats. While it was store-bought, it was well-smoked and nicely rendered, offering decent flavor. As for the sides, we tried beans, cole slaw, potato salad, and fries. The beans and fries were average, the potato salad was good but on the sweeter side, and the coleslaw was overly sweet and a bit messy. Even the BBQ sauce had a sugary taste—definitely a recurring theme! On the plus side, the staff was friendly, and service was prompt. However, I feel that the BBQ itself just didn't live up to the expectations.
