Are we supposed to meet at the costa? has somehow the lazy solution for casual meet in all our country. I had the unfortunate to be sent to this facility for such a rendezvous, it was heaving. full of people who are either very simply satisfied or conditioned. to believe that coffee should taste. if they want to be made on a coffee without pride, while they sat on a partly cleaned and dirty table, then they kick the rest of colchester as it champions, which is best a mediocre chain.
Main stream coffee chain going down the pan? One of the most dirty and filthy mainstream coffee stores i have had the displeasure to attend absolutely shocking. There was NO pride in the place at all. 5.30 and the place looked like it had been...hit with an asteroid. Three staff on the counter couldn 't be bothered, (please give the jobs to someone else that need them). It was so bad in there it actually made fawlty towers look 5 star. There was rubbish dirt and unkept tables strewn all over the place. Boxes piled up against doors which lead to kitchen areas with looks on them a HSE file day? There were periods where there were no customers and all i could see was the three staff catting away at the counter gossiping and moaning all and sundry. Marks all over the wall which looked like coffee sprayed everywhere the place was shambolic. I cant find a decent word to say about the place. Costa your run by the real thing now and your loosing it big time, where the hope is the area manager? I wont use that store EVER again. Contains spoilers customer service based personal opinion or perception on a £5 spend.
I enjoy working on my laptop at Costa while having my lunch or a morning drink. However, I was disappointed to find that they had removed the power outlets or I simply couldn't find any. In retrospect, I probably should have gone to a nicer, independent coffee shop. I usually only go to Costa because it's convenient. Generally, I understand the routine, but if the amenities I expect aren't available, a visit doesn't seem worth the price to me. Perhaps it was just busy and they didn't want customers sitting alone on laptops, taking up tables. Despite this, the banana and pecan loaf cake was delicious.
We always aim for a Costa Coffee shop whenever we are out and about. The service is quick and the staff efficient.
