Heirloom is the hidden gem at TOSU, the best café on campus by far. Most undergraduates do not know that this place even exists, so the general atmosphere matches that of the older young adult community and many music students. Heirloom seems to know this and prefer it; they do not accept any dining room dollars. Everything on the menu is locally produced and delicious, and the staff are all very warm and welcoming. Could no longer recommend a challenging place on campus!
Nice service, food and drinks. Recommend the almond cookie as a dessert, the image below is the Korean Veggies with Tofu. At some point it becomes loud and it becomes difficult to study or focus especially during peak hours.
Heirloom is located in the basement of the Wexner Center of Ohio State University. It is operated independently and serves fresh local fair as well as a variety of drinks, including tea and coffee. I enjoyed a buffalo chicken sandwich with a side salad, during a lunch visit and was quite impressed. The salad was nicely combined with a perfect dressing to add the green. The sandwich was well cut, cooked and seasoned.
Literally the best food can be found on the Ohio State University campus. Fantastic vegetarian/vegan options as well as friendly staff and a pleasant dining area make for a good place to meet, eat or spend time. Coffee cannot be taken from the café, but is refillable within the café area itself. Also homemade herbs and some vegetables are a pleasant supplement. Try the soups, taste the sandwiches, but also try the breakfast. Just try everything.
