Tal Y Cafn - Colwyn Bay

Had a nice Sunday roast (I had the bark meat and my wife had the pork). highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our meal in tal y cafn. the staff was very friendly and we were shown directly on our table. our drink order was taken within minutes and the drinks appeared quickly. the restaurant was almost full, making the excellent service levels even more impressive. our most important courses appeared immediately and the food was delicious with good portions. prices are good for the quality of food and service.

Very good gastropub recently (19 juli) reopened under new management. mainly served with tables, with a small bar area serving beersorte. no ales on the hand pump (shame). fresh fish from anglesey good friendly service will go back

After a table had booked 30 min on the table had to wait again for the service someone else had to wait for everything, eating was very disappointed e.g. chowder had 3 pieces garne the rest was carrot-sweden and kartoffeln. mushroom pasta was explained with what was declared half a chicken breast, but all it was 3 cubes.

Poor service throughout. One meal out of 4 was cold on arrival (although this was promptly replaced when asked), and another turned up 10 minutes after everyone else's. Several of the options on the menu both main courses and desserts had run out. We were told that the head chef had walked out on the previous Sunday and it was an unusually busy night, but we had booked in advance. Though the food when it turned up was very good, we wont be returning.
