As a regular I know what good dishes to expect but this time it was, sadly, not so good. The leitao had a lot of bones and my wife's bife Portugesa was tough, had gristle, and ended up as an unexpected take away for the cats. Wine and service fine. Will try again sometime

Large roadside family restaurant. Full Portuguese menu but suckling pig Leitao is a speciality. Very good quality and adequate portions. Good choice of sparkling wines too. When south of Coimbra there is no need to go to Mealhada for the famous piglets! Ample parking.

Well known busy traditional Leitao restaurant which serves other dishes as well. Reduced menu due to COVID. Delicious Leitao at standard prices. When you live south of Coimbra there is no need to go to Mealhada for this. Quick service. Knowledgeable staff. Plenty of parking.

Melt in the mouth pork with lovely crispy crackling, nice potatoes, a very tasty gravy and a fresh salad! What more can you ask for? A wonderful meal finished with delicious desserts from a huge dessert menu!

Repeat visit. Very good quality leitao and friendly and professional staff. No need to drive to Mealhada for this if you are south of Coimbra. Leitao dish (14,50 for one) came with salad and a few chipped potatoes only so I asked for a few more since there were mountains of them on other tables. For a tiny dish extra they charged another €1.75. Not good! If this had not happened I would have rated them Very good .
