It was not overly busy for a Friday night which was surprising, but nice to enjoy dinner without a lot of noise. My husband had a burger which he enjoyed. I had the club sandwich on cranberry bread which was a great idea! My only complaint was the bread was a little on the dry side. Beer was cold and the service was decent.
Stopped in for some drinks and some snack food mid afternoon. Roos is under new management and is in the process of being updated. The lady who served us was friendly and our orders were hot and delivered promptly. I had the Pork Bites and a Beer on tap and my wife had the Samosa and a soft drink. The food was good and displayed well for Bar food. First time there and we will be back. My only request to improve is that they chill their beer glasses. My beer could have been a bit cooler.
Roo's is my new favourite place to go for happy hour, it usually pretty empty so my friends and I get to be as loud as we want, the food is great especially for its happy hour prices, would definitely recommend the calamari and chicken tacos SO GOOD! Very close to Douglas College and is a great place to celebrate after finals as it can accommodate many people and doesn't feel cramped. Staff are always really nice!
So about an hour before happy hour. We ordered our natchos and I had a beer. He had water. She came back once to see how it was. And never came back! Ummm can I get another beer? Can he get some more water? How about it's 3 now can we order something off the happy hour menu? Did she forget? How could she? We sat right by the entrance to the "second floor"?? She walked by us to serve everyone else! Repeatedly! And when we said something to her she said WE should of called for her! Ummm excuse me are you not the waitress? Trying to sell food and beverages?? Nope won't be back anytime soon. Did I mention we were one of very few couples that were there before the rush ? Oh well. Dang. And I liked their wings too! Maybe go back in a year and try again then! Maybe.
Wanted to try somewhere different for drinks and appetizers and dinner on Thursday before Good Friday and have never been here before. First of all, don't trip over the warped floors on your way in, real hazard! I tripped and almost fell on my face! Atmosphere is that it is just a big warehouse to go to drink, play pool or watch sports. Lots of TV's! Service was terrible as looked like they only had one waitress for the whole section that we sat in and there were a number of people already there. Took a long time getting drinks and even longer to get our wings to start. Wings made up for the wait as they were done just right with lots of sauce on them. My husband ordered the steak sandwich special and said it was really good. I ordered their signature burger which was good. The fries were excellent, better than most pubs! All in all, good food but don't think we will return due to not so good service and atmosphere.
