We have eaten here twice in august 2022. I looked at the reviews after and noticed that it had not written anything new about it. we ate here at midday with children in the height of the summer season when we were near cordes. that was drunk, but accommodated us and gave us an exact feeling of waiting time that was not so long. all the workers were very attentive, despite very busy and without doubt extremely hot (it was during a heatwave of 36-38 degrees) the terrace with view of the landscape is a really nice environment, they would not really know that it was there from the front of the bistro. eating was like decent pub food, too very fair praise. the chicken-nugget dishes of the children went very well, I had a burger that was cooked, as I had asked, in a beautiful Brioche type beer with good fries and a little dressed salate. the pizza might not look amazing, but the desserts looked very good (we didn't get the chance to try it.) the service was excellent and the food arrived quickly. when we came back a second time when another restaurant in the city was full on the 15th august vacation and the children were late to lunch hungry, we had a very similar experience, all positiw.
The title says everything. the location is nice enough at the lower edge of the old town, a 15-minute walk down and a 25-minute walk (puffe). on a very rainy Saturday night, the place was not fully sophisticated. with only 10 patrons it was very loud. otherwise the dining room is nice and airy and the prices are quite reasonable. my wife and I had settled on pizza, as it is hard to go wrong, even in France, but even though they were on the menu, pizzas were not availale, as the ones since august were in unrepair. we put on grilled meat on a spit and a parisian salate. big mistake. the flesh was tough as bubbles, the fries soggy, the salat from tasteless tomato, tasteless industry emmental and devoured salat. the egg in the salat was ok. because there was little vinaiigraitte with the salat, I added mayonnaise from a Saxo tube. absolutely disgusting, the decay of commercial fishing. all this was covered by the powerwul of the waiter and the cheap perfume. We don't want to remember one night.
We did not have much choice, being a Public Holiday no other restaurant was open. But it didn’t matter we had a very nice dinner here. We had the Euro 19 meal and all 4 of us ordered the same appetiser and main. Shrimps as...an appetiser. We got 6 or 8 shrimps we had to peel ourselves and they really were tasty. Main was salmon deep fried with we nice crusty “shell”. Again we enjoyed it. For desert we had 2 profiteroles and 2 cheese plates. We were happy with both. Service was also excellent. The only spoiler was that the evening started with pleasant weather and half way through it turned, became windy and started to rain. They helped us quickly to a different table and made sure we were OK. Could not be more helpful. We tried to get back for dinner the next day but unfortunately they were closed.
The restaurant was too cold on a winter day. The music was very loud when we came in, later waiter turned the music down. The food was bad, we ordered soup of the day that tasted only like the stock cubes that it was made...with. The lasagne with salmon and spinach was a messy pot with some salmon here and there and raw spinach on the side. The vegetarian pizza had raw vegetables (zucchini, peppers and onions) on top. The coffee tasted like nothing... Too bad
