Pub grub is also served and is great portions are generous and is some of the best food around, massive difference in comparison to the food that any other pub has that I’ve ever been in
I've been here on a few occasions. There is a serious lack of atmosphere. The bar staff are nice and friendly but that's as far as it goes.
I'd been to the bar before when it was called Ruby Tuesdays. Used to be a great spot. Went in there recently and while the layout of the bar is still great, the staff are a bit off. I was served by this bitter looking little older guy who apparently is the owner. No greeting. No smile. And I saw him drinking pints of beer as he was serving other customers. Won't be back
In early July 2018 I started working at the Silly Goose part time. On the 15th of July, while working on the day of the World Cup final, I was mistreated by the duty manager being shouted at numerous times although I thought I had done nothing wrong. I respectfully informed the duty manager that I was quitting, shook his hand and walked out the door. That duty managers name was Brian Spillane. In the following weeks I messaged Brian requesting my P45. I never received it. I called in there personally twice to request it but I never heard anything back from them even though they had my contact details. On the 18th of September I walked into the Silly Goose and asked for my P45 for the 4th time. I was asked to leave. As I was leaving I told the person who was managing the place that my solicitor would be in touch with him. I turned around to walk out the door. As I was leaving I was suddenly kicked in the lower back from behind. The manager of the Silly Goose, had ran around the bar and kicked me from behind without warning even though I was willing to leave. The managers name is John I stood on the footpath. I faced John and told him once again he would be hearing from my solicitor. He placed his hand on my throat and squeezed. After a second or two he let go and walked back inside. It has now been almost 3 months since I finished work and I still haven't received my P45 I'm giving the Silly Goose 2 out of 5. The bartenders and management are terrible but the foods ok.
I just had one of the best burgers in a long time, really tasty and delicious and served whit spicey fries, nice and cosy pub with excellent service.
