We were there for the noon, after the visit of the castle of cormatin. in fact the restaurant is located right in front, and as the castle opens with a guided tour to it is necessarily in the corner to it we took chicken with a sauce with almonds and girolles. Well, we're still looking for the girolles, but for the rest it was pretty good. Let's say it's doing the job at noon, especially it's not too expensive.
We arrived in town about noon, and La Terrasse was a convenient place to eat lunch. We were planning to tour Château de Cormatin, which was right across the street, and there was also convenient parking at a nearby church cathedral. Apparently, not a lot of English-only speakers eat at the restaurant, since there was not a menu in English or anyone on the wait staff that spoke English. With my daughter using her phone to help interpret some French on the menu, we finally got our meal ordered. I had some type of beef and potatoes with a salad, which was very good. We were seated in a side section of the restaurant and once our food was delivered to our table our waitress disappeared, never to return. My granddaughter had ordered a meal with ice cream as a dessert, and I finally had to go around to the back counter and try to explain to someone who didn’t understand English what had happened and what I needed. I’m also not sure if they were supposed to bring our check to the table but since no one ever did, I finally went back up to the counter to pay.
