The Norway Inn

I was really surprised and disappointed that it took three requests for me to get a wine list. The bartender was extremely unhelpful and condescending. This experience happened on Christmas Eve 2023.

We decided to stop by on a whim during a busy lunchtime the week before Christmas. Becky, who was working at the front of the house, was fantastic. She found us a quiet table away from a large group of 20, took our food order before theirs, and was cheerful and attentive throughout. She mentioned it was only her first week on the job, but she was a real asset to the restaurant. The Christmas atmosphere was lovely with tasteful decorations, and the food was delicious. We had pesto pasta, flavorful macaroni cheese, and excellent garlic bread. It had been many years since we had been to the Norway, but we will definitely be returning soon. Thank you to all, we had a wonderful time.

Amazing festive lunch coupled with brilliant service. Following some poor experiences earlier in the year we were sceptical about going back. However, this experience was completely opposite and we were welcomed by wonderful staff, who were attentive but not in your face. The food was fresh, tasty and perfect portion size. A really wonderful experience and festive meal, would definitely recommend.

Visited with friends from London for the Xmas meal. Two had turkey and the other two had beef. The beef dinner was easily the worst I have had. The beef was overcooked and extremely difficult to cut, as were the roast potatoes. The veg was barely cooked and there was no mashed swede or cauliflower cheese....in fact nothing that resembled a Xmas meal. No offer of any sauces. I did not like to complain about my meal as it was being paid for by my friends, though the elderly lady who was with us left practically the whole meal as she was clearly struggling. She mentioned it to the waiter who said he would speak to the chef but she had no response. She didn't take it any further as her grandson was paying for the meal and she didn't want to upset him. However when I returned home I rang to voice my concerns and spoke to a female manager. I was very disappointed with her response as she offered no apology and said she could not do anything as we did not log the complaint at the time. I explained the situation to her and said that I was not asking for a refund as I didn't want out host to know that we were unhappy with the meal. The result of this experience was that I cancelled a booking for 8 people for next Wednesday. Definitely not recommended for a Xmas meal!

Surley welcome, had to ask twice for menus. I had the lasagna with micro greens salad. They should have put micro lasagna as well, it was smaller than a childs portion. The garlic bread was good and my wifes bubble and squeak was a good size and well made. Just dont order the lasagna
