Masa told me he would rather turn people away than give a less than complete experience. I've never met a man so committed to maintaining high standards! I came back here with my brother. Just brilliant. The quality of the dishes was very high and very consistent with other visits. I'll upload pictures of the dishes I could make pictures of. I have tried to take photos of each individual dish, but when the plate is served in front of you, everything you can think is a tomb, and making a picture is the last thing on your mind. You will notice that some of the pictures are half eaten dishes. You would be surprised how hard it is to take a picture of fine dishes BEFORE you start eating it. My brother is a big fan now. We had the same stuff that we normally have: Cattle Tent Pot Sticker Kurobuta Pork Sausages Ankimo Kohl rolls Marinated Tuna Sushi We also ordered the mushroom Bon Bon, which is tempura Shiiitake mushrooms filled with crab meat, and tempura spic tuna packed in shiso leaf. It's Tempura heaven. Also the pig-shhis-black cheese-snell was great. Wonderful aromas. I also forgot to mention Dessert in my last review, but do not take that to mean that you should skip Dessert. It's always a treat. There is no set dessert menu, and everything I had is wonderful here. I don't have pictures because we all ate the dessert before I remember taking photos. Today we had green apple sorbet, cranberry sorbet, strawberry sorbet and coffee jelly. All Sorbets are fresh homemade and you can taste the natural fruits and smell the natural scent of the fruits. Delicious. My favorite was the strawberry. The coffee jelly is a jelly with whipped cream and unpacked cream. You touch the whole cup with a spoon and drink it. Wonderful. Remember that dessert is not a set menu, so it often changes. Last time I had the millet crepe that was great, and a melon sorbet that was great. Did I mention that all desserts are just great? Whatever Masa has for you in the store, don't leave desserts. Previous review: If you want quantities about quality, this place is not for you. This place is not a claim jumper. If you are expecting a bar catering at the Newport Beach Friat Party, this place is not for you. However, if you are looking for culinary art, you might have found the only restaurant in the flat OC that has every depth. Don't let the shield in front that Sake Bomb fools you. This is a place for serious food lovers. Please ignore the shield at the front. They have the highest quality and very innovative food I've ever had. When you discuss the cook, he'll tell you how he prepares every dish. Based on the careful and laborious preparation of each dish, you can say that he is proud of his work and culinary creations. Recommended dishes: Cattle tongue Eintopf Pot Sticker Kurobuta Pork Sausages Ankimo Kohl rolls Marinated Tuna Sushi The beef cinnamon stew and cabbage rolls are standouts in a menu full of dishes that will delight every palate of food. Be adventurous and sample some of the unusual dishes, because they are always culinary experiences. The cook and waitress is very friendly and very nice. It's a little operation, so you might have to wait a while for your food, but it's always worth waiting. Very recommended if you want to eat high quality food. Do not expect a pitcher of the bud with ten pounds of Blandmaic potatoes and leathery 32 ounces of steak doused in A1 sauce for five dollars here.
We ordered a few things from the menu and then I asked Masa san to prepare some surprises for us. Everything was made artful and authentically cost... no court was disappointing! It was all very fresh and placed by a friendly and helpful server pleased to go back soon. I highly recommend it for REAL Sushi!
Wonderful evening! We had the grandmaks, and it was from this world.
