Feedback gevenThis is a sort of hidden gem in plain sight. It's hidden only because of the many other restaurants and stores that surround it, because some might discard it for being in a mall. Every time I go I have a feast. They have some amazing artichokes to start, a very good fennel salad, and amazing pizza of pesto burrata, and their selection of fish (al sartén) is out of this world. That paired with a tamarind margarita and at the end an Irish coffee pavlova for desert.... highly recommended!
The place is very nice, in front of a fountain that is part of the mall. The decor nice. I got a pizza and a just vegetable salad, both where very good.
This is a branch of an Italian restaurant (the original is in the Santa Fe suburb located in the incredibly beautiful Oasis shopping mall in Coyoacán (I am not a fan of malls, but the huge lake fountain and volcanic rock walls of this mall are impressive . The restaurant's design is nice, but it pales compared to that of the lake fountain located in front. The best seating is in the front patio, which looks out onto the fountain. However, if you go at a busy time, you will not have your choice of seating. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and had to wait 20 minutes for any table, and sat inside, which is also very nice (and you can see the fountain from just about anywhere inside . Service was extremely attentive. There is a reasonably well stocked bar and good list of Italian wines. Bottles are a little pricey, but not outrageous. The menu itself is quite reasonably priced considering the quality of the food. It includes pizzas (we saw one at a nearby table it was thin crusted and looked delicious , soups, salads (we tried an unusual celery walnut salad, which we liked a lot , and mostly traditional appetizers. Some clients will be impressed with the presentation of carpaccio style appetizers, with the meat sliced to order at the table. Dinner entrees were priced mostly around $175 $225 pesos. We tried a very tasty rabbit, which was very tender (although it could have been cooked a bit more around the larger bones , a really delicious octopus dish (highly recommended! , and the spicy pasta arrabiata (also highly recommended! . The menu was extensive and we would return here to try other items, including the pizzas. We also had dessert. It's unusual to find cannolis in Mexico, and this restaurant's were very good. Other desserts also looked attractive. There is some good competition for dining in this mall, including a branch of El Bajío (also with lines to be seated , and attractive looking Argentine and Japanese restaurants, among others (also the more casual Crepes and Waffles upstairs , but Café Milano stands out here for the quality of its food and service.
