I know places don’t list all ingredients but would have expected something so strong to be mentioned in the description. One mouthful and couldn’t eat the rest usually I can manage to eat almost anything) , had to return dish uneaten and was sadly still charged full price £12 . Ordered alternative meal full English which was nice but even the baked beans had been mixed with something without any mention . I don’t mind flavours and different food but would find it helpful for it to be mentioned then you know what ur getting . Sadly a very expensive lunch overall
The staff were helpful and friendly, and the coffee excellent. The food (bacon and sausage sandwich bacon/avocado on toast) was very tasty, but I feel that the quantities were rather small for the price. The atmosphere in the cafe was light and airy. A pleasant place for a brunch, but I'd suggest they could review either the quantity or price of menu items.
Serving freshly made to order food inspired by ottelenghi! In fact the food was so good that I think it was the chef himself in disguise. Warm welcome in a busy place yet still attentive service, I would recommend sharing a table with others or sitting at the bar area as tables are sought after! Using local produce producing exquisite flavours and reasonably priced. They also sell the tea from “good and proper tea” company. The Roobios is fabulous, I noted the head waitress cleaning down her coffee machine with pristine clean brushes and the cleanliness of the chef was also noted regularly washing hands using his elbow to turn on and off the taps! The clothes and gift store has wonderful items for sale and so nice to potter and browse around! Best thing we did in Settle was hind your cafe, thank you
Travelling from Cumbria to West Yorkshire we had set off early with a plan to stop in Settle for late breakfast. Had selected the bike shop cafe but when we arrived there we found it was less than welcoming environment (which might suit hardy cyclists who don't expect the temperature to be warmer inside than outside) Had seen the Cafe Car as we were parking and so we dcided to try it! It was brilliant. and wished that I'd seen when I'd looked at Trip ADvisor. Their rating should be higher ! The reviews I have now seen sum it up really well.....lovely decor, lovely food and lovely staff who make you feel that they enjoy what they are doing and really do want to please their customers.
Sat outside the cafe in glorious late Autumn sunshine. Basic but well put together menu that you would expect. All produce local and very well cooked with good attentive service. Reasonable value and nothing really that you could improve upon.
