They also had a tempting selection of pastries that caught my eye. I ordered a latte made with a smoky dark roast espresso, which isn't my usual choice, but it was still pretty good. The milk was perfectly frothed, and I noticed some drinks topped with enticing whipped cream, even though I’m not usually a big fan of it—it certainly looked impressive! The personalized cups were a charming touch. The interior had a fresh look with new walls that concealed the roaster, and the color scheme was inviting. There was plenty of seating available, catering to all preferences, which is great for someone like me who is particular about where to sit. My husband and I would definitely return, though I might opt for a lighter roast next time since dark roasts aren’t my favorite.
We’ve been here 45 minutes, still waiting for breakfast burritos. 3 people working, 1 is in training. Coffee and tea is delicious. Really hoping the burritos are worth the wait. Giving one star for service. Update: The breakfast burritos were REALLY good. Updating to 5 stars because because coffee, tea, and burritos really were delicious and well...it's a small town and I don't wanna be a jerk. I think we just caught them on an off-day with a busy morning and not enough staff. We were hoping to get to a trailhead earlier than we did, so it put a little damper on our morning. Hopefully it goes a little smoother at our next visit.
On a recent trip to Crested Butte we were disappointed to see that the Mountain Oven/First Ascent Bakery/Coffee Shop (the previous incarnation of this place! had gone out of business. But we were pleasantly surprised by the new Octopus Coffee! The coffee was *so good* (with homemade whipped cream after a cold day out! and their baked goods are really excellent. We expected imitation Starbuck's baked stuff, but their pastries were amazing. We went there three times in three days and will definitely return!
Great little local coffee shop with awesome breakfast. Lots of seating upstairs.
We RV full time and are always looking for that next best coffee shop. With WiFi. I had a Turkish Delight and an almond vanilla cinnamon roll. The Turkish delight was to die for. It’s dark coffee with fennel and cardamom so it’s almost a savory flavor. I went back the very next day to have my second ever Turkish Delight but they are closed on Thursdays! So today I’m headed straight back down the mountain to enjoy my second ever Turkish Delight. Oh the cinnamon roll was perfectly not too sweet!
