Food and custard tasted great. Bonus is that they have vegetarian options! All members and my family and I enjoyed their food. When there was a small mistake with our order, the manger was very attentive and helpful in correcting it. I would highly recommend this to anyone in the Crystal Lake area.
We try to make it a point to support local establishments, and franchises that are unique to the area. It had taken us awhile to visit Freddy 's, but we finally got the chance. It was our first time visiting any Freddy 's location, so we weren 't sure exactly what to expect. The reviews from our party of 4 were mixed, but all agreed it was quite pricey, especially when compared to other establishments and franchises offering the same type of food, prepared similarly. We each ordered different meals (including fries and a regular size fountain drink). All were approximately $10 each. Two of us ordered different variations of the double burgers; one original, the other a California double. The burgers and fries were cooked medium well and tasted very good with the included toppings. All agreed the shoestring fries, with signature seasoning, were tasty. We saw signature fry sauce advertised, but were not offered any and were not sure whether it was available. One in our party ordered the cheese curds instead of fries. All tasted 1 or 2, and thought they lacked texture and flavor. Offerings from competitors are much better. It is recommended to skip these and stick with the fries. The grilled chicken sandwich was of low quality, especially for something that the menu advertised as a favorite . It was rubbery, with a fake, plastic-y taste. No sauce was offered or provided. A later requested honey mustard sauce could not improve the taste or texture. We also tried the special Key Lime Pie Concrete (custard). This was very tasty, but not really worth the nearly $6 price for a mini size. Overall, the meals were not something we would find ourselves returning for, especially given the better taste and price of nearby competitors.
First time here. Only had a burger. Burger was a double. Reminds me a bit of Culver's on the taste and texture. Friendly staff. Drive through seemed super slow, even though I was second in line.
Freddy's is the bomb. 10 bucks for a hamburger fries and drink. If they maintain quality and low price you can't really beat it. Fried fish was awesome when they had it. Matches Culver's alantic cod but it's way cheaper ????????
