A lovely meal with great service. Located on lively plaza de Madrid in zona Roma this beautiful old building houses a fusion of world cuisines. Downstairs don't miss el museo de jamon with hams and cheeses imported from Spain. Altogether a delightful experience. We enjoyed...arugala salad with figs, pecans and a mustard dressing, corn soup with curry, shrimp asparagus appetizer, beef Wellington in puff pastry, and a fabulous baked apple compote with homemade vanilla ice cream.
We were taking on of the City Bus Tours of Mexico City and stopped in Cibeles to admire the statue in the park in the centre of the traffic circle. We were starving and saw El Jolgorio. The menu was reasonably priced and we thought...we would take a chance as we wanted to sit outside and enjoy the area. Admittedly we were hungry but the meal began with an excellent Tortilla soup. It was so delicious that I could have just had seconds of the soup and been satisfied. The portions of the main course were large (by Canadian standards) and the waitress was happy and helpful and brought us some interesting hot sauces to try with our meal... The fish we ordered was cooked perfectly. What a find!!!!
