The restaurant is clean AND freshly painted! Thank you Rock n Roll Sushi Cullman loves you! Keep up the great work ?Food: 5/5
After hearing about the change in ownership, we decided to give Rock N Roll Sushi another chance for lunch. The restaurant's cleanliness was up to par, and the atmosphere matched our expectations. However, the service aspect still leaves much to be desired. During our visit, it was evident that the team was struggling and overwhelmed.I empathized with the lone server who was managing all the tables and tending to the bar single-handedly during lunchtime. Despite her efforts, the pressure was noticeable, and it affected the overall experience. After waiting for 20 minutes for our sushi to arrive, I took matters into my own hands and approached idle team members to identify our plates. I even assisted in delivering ramekins to the neighboring table, which had been unintentionally neglected in their request.Drawing from my experience as a food service manager, it was disheartening to witness the lack of coordination. There was a team member in a Jack's restaurant uniform who displayed a positive attitude, but he seemed new and unsure about most tasks. The sushi orders were ready but sat for an extended period in the sushi cooler. Instead of promptly delivering them to their respective tables, the front-of-house staff seemed indecisive. Even settling the bill took longer than expected, and I found myself standing and waiting for over 10 extra minutes for acknowledgment. Clearly, there's a need for training and strong leadership to navigate the lunch rush effectively. Enhancing teamwork would undoubtedly boost morale.Regarding the food quality, the rice on the uncooked sushi rolls left much to be desired – it was dry and lacked a pleasant texture. On the bright side, the fried dishes were enjoyable and served warm. Unless the restaurant can improve table turnover during lunch hours, it might be challenging to include this location in our rotation. Perhaps it was an off day, but this recurring pattern is concerning.
Someone who's had his fair share of proper sushi i stumbled in here for a novelty peak. Definitely a slightly different experience from a traditional sushi establishment. Proper customer service delivered. Personally the rock theme takes away sushi experience as it's meant to be enjoyed in a more subdued environment but that's an opinion. See for yourself to get a feel for it. Food was decent but not memorable, a few off putting flavor bits that didn't work well here and didn't deliver, rice texture, seasonings, too much bite on the roll that was meant to be much softer and such. At this price point there's an expectation. There's a more extensive menu for fried rolls (their speciality). Worth a peak? maybe but I'm a traditionalist and this ain't it.
We love our first time coming there.Lots of THANKS to the young lady who waited on us .She was very patient and even helped my daughter and I choose something perfect for both of us to try since I knew nothing lol. So We give AVA five stars ? Thank u again for the great experience.Food: 5/5
I am visiting from out of town and wanted sushi so bad!! I ordered the Sharp Dressed Roll and paid to add avocado inside. It took well over an hour to receive my order but it was a busy Saturday Night so I would have let that go, but there was no avacado added even though I was charged and the sushi rolls were terrible!! The lobster tempura was way over cooked and had a gross charred taste. I even tried to dissect the rolls and pick off the breading but the lobster was very dry and tough. I know they could easily see when they assembled the rolls that the lobster tempura was burned but gave it to me anyway and that is just inexcusable! I used door dash so with tax and tip I paid over $30 for a dinner I couldn’t even eat! I will not be ordering from Rock n Roll Sushi next time I am in town.
