The server was kind and welcoming. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a mix of Asian and Western styles, and the bathroom was clean. The prices were fair as well.
There are many Chinese restaurants in British Columbia, as there are in many other countries, but this one is really exceptional. The owners and kitchen staff are from the Guangzhou/Kanton region and originally moved to Montego Bay, Jamaica. After spending some time adapting their cooking style for the locals and visitors, they decided to relocate to Cumberland. It has been about 5 years since their arrival, and their Jamaican Chinese food has been a hit among customers. The menu is perfect for both lunch and dinner, and the Saturday evening buffet offers a selection of 10-12 well-chosen dishes, including 4 different desserts, such as delicious Nanaimo bars. Seniors receive a discount, and the prices are very affordable compared to other Chinese restaurants. You will not be disappointed by visiting this restaurant above all others in Cumberland. I hope this review was helpful!
We had the War wonton soup and it was delicious. The seven are full of taste. Our server is excellent. She was friendly and looked after us both perfectly and the other customers. The atmosphere was relaxed and the restaurant and the bathrooms were nice... and clean.
Today, I came to Cumberland hoping to escape the fog and grab lunch. However, the restaurant I originally wanted to go to was closed. Thankfully, I stumbled upon this place. Despite it being empty, I decided to give it a try. And I'm glad I did. I ordered the lunch special, which included Chow Mein and Almond Chicken. The Chow Mein was incredibly crispy and fresh, exceeding my expectations. The Almond Chicken was also delicious, with perfectly cooked meat. While the restaurant may not be the most visually appealing, the taste of the food more than makes up for it. And all this for under $11. Well done.
Everybody knows that Chinese food is like crack. The Familiar flavors of your childhood and Friday night family dinners. I have never had such delicious clean flavored Canadian Chinese food. It never leaves me sodium hungover and as a returning customer I keep coming back...for the sweet and sour pork, simply divine, if it's your or thing. Another amazing thing is their wonton soup it comes cram packed with wontons veggies and barbecue pork. Would recommend anybody who's hungry and doesn't mind large portions, very affordable aswell! Only rating very good as the interior could use some work.
