Walking through the car park we saw some signs that one of the restaurants was closed for a private function, fair enough, so we went into the hotel reception and asked where we could go and that we had a dog with us. The receptionist advised us that if we walked back the way we had came there was a Terrence we could sit on and we could get a drink there. So, we walked back around sat at a table where a waitress came out and was very apologetic and said that this terrace was closed for a private function, we apologised and moved to another terrace. Settled again I walked in another set of doors on another terrace and was advised that this restaurant was closed for a private function! So was there another hidden Terrance that wasn’t closed?! I was given the impression that we could have had a drink but after such a bad impression that we were not welcome I said to not worry and we would leave. Had we had been advised initially that the entire hotel was closed for a private function which the signs did not indicate this surely you’d have thought that the hotel reception knew what was going on and the staff where reliably informed! This business is by first impressions a place where we would spend our money, clearly the business didn’t want our money. Such a shame as the first impression is let down massively but the competence. Service: 1 Location: 5
A relaxing retreat in the historic village of Castle Ashby, surrounded by Idyllic country gardens and lakes waiting to be explored. The Falcon Hotel is a stones throw away from the town of Northampton, the perfect spot for a touch of retail therapy or a bite to eat. My experience started with a phone call, I spoke to Jackie who was an absolute delight. She was very helpful and knowledgeable, advising on things to do nearby and ensuring that I would have a pleasant stay. Me and my partner were warmly greeted by Viplaw at the reception desk who was very welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble for him, he went above and beyond to make sure we had an exceptional stay. Me and my partner had a massage by the lovely Camilla who was very attentive and tailored the massage to our individual needs. With her healing hands we were left feeling relaxed and extremely happy that our aches had virtually vanished. The facilities at the hotel were excellent, with little extras and finishing touches that most do not think of. All of the staff treat you like a VIP and not just a number. I would highly recommend The Falcon to anybody who is in need of relaxation or a break away in the countryside, close enough to amenities if you needbut far enough away from any noise! A massive thank you to everyone at The Falcon, we loved every moment. Stef and Chris Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Luxury, Romantic, Quiet, Great value
We stumbled upon The Falcon Hotel after visiting the beautiful Castle Ashby Gardens and decided to call in for lunch. Firstly, it wasn't immediately apparent which door to enter through to gain access to the hotel or if it was actually open for dining but we managed to locate the main front door and a member of staff who directed us to the more informal area of the hotel for casual dining. The seating is pleasant and the environment is airy and relaxed in the informal dining area. I chose the Caesar salad with a side of fries for lunch and my partner opted for the burger. The food arrived promptly and was well plated. Unfortunately half way through eating my salad I found a long hair wrapped around a piece of lettuce. I raised this with the restaurant manager who dealt with it quickly. The salad up until that point had been delicious. We might consider returning to sample the fine dining for a special occasion. We didn't realise this was an option when we first arrived as this wasn't made very clear. I wanted this Hotel to leave a lasting impression on us as it looks so good from the outside and the inside is very tastefully furnished but on this occasion it left us feeling underwhelmed. The Falcon is by far the best Boutique Hotel and eatery in the area. Location. Location. Location. Dog friendly, yoga, wild swimming, exceptional service, interior design is blissful and sophisticated but what's key is, coffee, soft drinks, seating, all as it should be for an Ancient Castle Estate. Highly recommend. A blissful peaceful space for quiet breaks alone or meeting friends all of which I regularly enjoy. Superb. Walkability: There are various local walks some of which are for Hotel residents only but the area has many fabulous walks irrespective of that. Stunning views and IG photo opportunities. Beautiful grounds, and stunning rooms. Breakfast falls a little flat for the price, but otherwise a lovely, chilled atmosphere. Have stayed many times so far, and definitely well over due another. Their pink grapefruit and raspberry gin is particularly deadly! : Rooms: 4 Service: 3 Location: 4
