We were visiting from out of town. The fish and chicken were very salty. They never brought out any fresh chicken baked or fried during our almost 1 and a half hour stay. Even the desserts lacked taste. Our local family described the restaurant as hit or miss , well it 's obvious that we came on a miss day. The air wasn 't working properly and it was very warm inside. It was very clean and the staff were very nice. Our server was on point and made sure that our cups stayed full. The time spent with family made the experience better.
They have switched over to payment being made when you go through the serving line to order your food whereas in the past 40 years give or take you would order then sit and pay on your way out. You have to tip in advance of service if paying by card .This also caused the loss of the 2 girls at the old register taking people's payments and causing longer wait times to order and be seated. I don't mind this method although i have a big problem of how this affects the servers (waiters and waitresses) . They are no longer tipped separately in envelopes with each servers names but as a whole; not being tipped whether you go above and beyond or a server that does the bare minimum makes no sense. The food is good, service is great and decent value for your money but our restaurant servers are being penalized for trying to do a good job and being tipped accordingly. As a future reminder bring cash to tip in person because this new way of paying is better for the owners but not the workers.
Same good food I remember as a kid. Nothing has changed.
