My friend got the steak pho broth was amazing and the meat was delicious. My other friend got vermicelli with short rip and shrimp also great. We got the summer roll for the table everything was super fresh and good. Light and flavorful but filling.
I've been stopping by here most Monday evenings for over a year when in Philadelphia and pick up several Banh Mi (Ga, Chay and Thit Nuong) for dinner or to save for school lunches the next few days. Often get a rice, noodle or pho dish as well. Always great food for the price.Vegetarian options: I'm not vegetarian, but I enjoy the selections and can easily go meat free here.
Pad Thai was greasy, no flavor, no veg except sliced green onion and regular onion. Completely boring and my mouth still feels greasy. Other order was pork with noodles but could not figure out the flavor. Again, boring and lacking so much. For almost $40 we expected more. We would not recommend. But South Gate Korean was outstanding. Their reply is an outright lie. It is on their menu. They just don’t know how to make it. I realize it is Thai and not Vietnamese but it is on their menu under chicken, beef and vegetarian. Why do you put something on your menu if you don’t know how to make it.
I grew up in a large Vietnamese community before moving to NYC and I have been longing for a good banh mi for years. We just moved here couple of weeks from now and WOW, this place delivers. The chicken banh mi is in my top 5 of all times.Definitely worth stopping by!
Absolutely affordable and love supporting small businesses! Where else can you find a large stuffed banh mi for about $6?! I went here when I was in a pinch for dinner and the pho place I had in mind was closing, so when I saw cheap banh mi, I bought some right away! It took some time to get it but when it was finished, I received the chicken peppery banh mi and pork one. Both were great and I’d definitely want to try the banh mi dac biet or pho next!
