Thalappakatti Naidu Biriyani Hotel

I had a positive opinion of this restaurant in the past, but my recent experience at the Pondicherry Kamaraj Salai branch was very disappointing. The mutton biryani we had was one of the worst dishes we have ever had. The quality of the mutton and the preparation were both very poor. I believe that the food safety authorities should inspect and take strict actions against restaurants like this.

The service and taste at this restaurant are good, but the quality is lacking. The plain biryani and fish fingers were both full of oil, and I felt sick for three days after eating here. I would recommend finding another restaurant to dine at.

I found out about this restaurant from a local resident. They mentioned that the biryani served here is quite popular. However, I personally did not enjoy the taste. I have had better biryani in Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Delhi.

Never ever place an order for food delivery at Dindigul Thalappakatti Restaurant (Theni Branch). I wanted to order biriyani to feed 25 people for a birthday party. So I placed the order the night before to Mr. Manikandan, the manager of the Theni branch. When...I called about the order on the day of the party around 12.30 pm, Ms. Kanchana said that the food is being packed to be delivered. This was their answer when we called them again and again for an hour. We asked the delivery boy to call us when he was nearby. The food was not delivered even after 1.30 and the delivery boy too had not called. I called the restaurant again but the line was “engaged”. When the call was eventually put through after a while they said the food was indeed on its way and that the delivery boy will call me in a while. When the delivery boy (Mr. Sundhar) did call, half an hour after the call to the restaurant, he said he was in PC Patti when the food was to be delivered to me in Periyakulam in the opposite direction from PC Patti. After we gave him the right direction he said something about 2 deliveries, one in Bodi and one in Periyakulam to us and the deliveries were mixed up and he’ll make it right. I called the delivery boy again he said another delivery boy (Mr. Reegan) was on his way with his delivery to us and gave us his phone number. When we called Mr. Reegan he said he was in Lakshmipuram and will make the delivery as soon as possible. I called him again after 10 mins (by then the delivery should have been made) to ask him where he was he said he was still in Lakshmipuram for about an hour. Since it was too late I cancelled the order after 3pm. We couldn't provide lunch to our guests.
