My favorite seafood community in all Bajío, surprise in Dolores Hidalgo. Simple decoration and presentation, but noticeably clean and professional operation. Wait staff very attentive and proud of their restaurant. The seafood is high quality. Favorite court is Camarones delfín very special. Note closes at 7:00 and does not accept cards.
Today we stopped at Delphin for a quick lunch. We are regular and the service is always attentive, and the food is a great value. We were a party of three, and began with the seafood starter, with shrimps, onions, cucumbers and Chiles, and a side of Guacamole. We followed with a fillet of fish Veracruz style and a few regular fish fillets, all with white rice. The girls had lemonade and orange juice and I had a Michaelada the spicy beer cocktail that this restaurant makes very good. This meal was 560 pesos or about $30 US in front of the top, which is cheap and probably half the price of most seafood in the area, including San Miguel. The restaurant is a block from the main square and observe the two living parrots on the balcony above the door. Since we skipped Dessert, we drove to the main square and had some ice creams from the local provider. I am always a bit exotic on these things and had a medium-sized cup of garambullo (a dark purple berry growing on cactus plants) and maracuya fruit (also called the orange passion fruit) – 45 pesos, about $2.40 US delicious. Of course, one of the beautiful things about Dolores is the great main square full of people talking and playing, and at this moment pouring a wedding celebration from the church and the Mariachi began to play. Viva Mexico!

While I stopped in the cradle of independence, the urge for authentic Mexican seafood came over me. I searched and came with El Defin. Trip Advisor was a little on the localization through a block. We looked over the menu, and I decided to have the Aquachili as an appetizer, which is actually a meal on the menu and not as an appetizer. The prices are extremely inexpensive, and when we got the aguachile, there were not many real shrimps in it. However, since it was really intended for a person as a meal, and given the fact that the price actually put it on less than five dollars, it was really not much to complain. Although, it was extremely sharp. Next we decided to order on the menu as specialties of the house. The shrimp Cantamar and the shrimp Defin. The Shrimp dolphin was prepared with a pineapple green pepper sauce that was a beautiful combination. The Shrimp Cantamar was actually cooked in a steam-locked aluminum bag that you opened at the table. These two shrimp flours have proven to be very tasty. Fortunately, nowhere near as sharp as the aguachile. The atmosphere is your common Mexican simple cafeteria-looking restaurant. Since the food was quite good, the simple environment was not important. The staff was especially friendly and helpful, and it was a pleasant and relaxing experience to eat there. If you are a Mexican Mariscos lover and visit Dolores, you should pass.
