Cafe Greco greek Restaurant - Doncaster

The Greek restaurant did not meet the standards expected in comparison to other local restaurants in the area known for their excellent Greek cuisine. The restaurant should work on improving their offerings.

We have visited this restaurant multiple times in recent years, hoping it would live up to its original standard despite changing ownership. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. There is a Café Greco restaurant in Knox that is fantastic, and since they share the same name and owner, we expected a similar experience. However, we were wrong. The menu and food quality were not up to par. The Knox restaurant has a wide selection of dishes and desserts, but this one had a limited menu and lacked dessert options. We were disappointed to receive our food in paper packaging for dinner, and as vegetarians, we found the choices lacking. The absence of dolmades on the menu was particularly disappointing. The dessert selection was also underwhelming compared to the glorious desserts at the Knox location. Overall, the experience was unsatisfactory, with a mediocre menu, average service, and little desire to return. We recommend trying the Knox Café Greco for a better dining experience.

My wife and I went out for a special evening to celebrate our anniversary and had plans to have an early dinner before catching a movie at Westfield Doncaster. We decided to try out a restaurant called Cafe Greco, which looked promising. However, we were disappointed with the poor service we received. It was a Tuesday night and there were only a few people dining. We ordered an appetizer to share and our main meals, which arrived quickly. Unfortunately, no one asked us if we wanted any drinks during our meal. When our main dishes finally arrived, they had even forgotten a part of one of the dishes. Despite there being only a few customers in the restaurant, the service was lacking. The food itself was average, but the poor service really took away from our overall experience. Because of this, I don't think I will be returning to Cafe Greco in the future.

Greek food that doesn't quite live up to the standard expected by the surroundings and the local area (where Greek restaurants are very good). They can lift their game.

We have been to this place several times over the past few years, and given that there have been various owners, we always expect it to be as good as it was when it first opened. Alas, we were mistaken. There is a Cafe Greco restaurant at Knox, which is excellent, and as they have the same name, and the same owner, one would expect the menu and quality of food to be the same. How silly of us! Apparently the executive chef at each restaurant gets to decide on the menu, so where the Knox restaurant has an extensive, varied menu, and a wonderful dessert selection, this restaurant has a small, boring menu and hardly any dessert selection! They didn't have have gyros...and instead, offered us a wrap, which was delivered in a paper wrapping...for dinner!!!! Can you believe that? It was basically exhorbitantly priced take away food, and as a vegetarian, choices were lacking. Not even dolmades were on the menu...pathetic. The most disappointing factor was the primarily empty dessert fridge though....the Knox restaurant has a choice of at least 18 glorious desserts, which sit invitingly in a cabinet at the entrance to the restaurant. This place has a huge cabinet, with about 4 shoddy looking desserts in it and none of the beautiful cheesecakes that we are used to. Anyway, the experience was extremely underwhelming, the menu appalling, the service average, and we have no desire to return. Do yourselves a favour and travel a little further to the Knox Cafe Greco - you won't be disappointed.
