The Boar’s Nest has the best steaks around! Always excellent service and great atmosphere!
This restaurant has gone downhill in the last 2-3 months. We waited an hour to get our food and the fish was over cooked and tasteless while the chicken fried steak wasn't completely done. The waitress, while friendly, had a panicked attitude. Hope you fix what's wrong considering this is the only restaurant in town
Worst customer service by not the wait staff but the owner. My order was messed up and not only would he not replace it but wouldn't offer a refund. He was very rude and disrespectful. I am a long time customer but because of the way I was treated by the owner I will never eat there again.
Upon our arrival, we seated ourselves, but none of the staff acknowledged us. The restaurant appeared busy by their standards, with most of the small dining area occupied, except for the entire bar and a few tables pushed together for a large party. The three servers seemed overwhelmed and unable to keep up with the demands of their tables. Some patrons even had to help themselves to drinks because the servers were too busy to assist. Another large party arrived after us and received immediate service; it turned out they had an off-duty employee in their group, which likely contributed to their attentive experience. Additionally, a group of five at the bar was also served fairly promptly. Both of these tables were able to place their drink orders before any staff approached us, and we only got attention when we waved them over repeatedly. Even then, when we asked for menus, the server's demeanor suggested that we were an inconvenience. She returned with only two menus and promised to get more but never came back. After 25 minutes of waiting without any service, we decided to leave. What was supposed to be a wonderful family celebration turned into a disappointing experience, largely due to poor training and management of the servers. The atmosphere was manageable, but the scatterbrained service made it unbearable. We understand that delays can happen and would have been willing to wait if there had been any effort to communicate with us or to make us feel valued—perhaps a simple “Thank you for your patience” or “We’ll be with you shortly” could have made a difference. If you decide to try your luck at The Boar’s Nest, I hope your experience is better than ours.
