Holiday Inn Express Dumfries, An Ihg

I expected more from IHG. This hotel is located in a great area with ease of access. Unfortunately, they are lacking in the quality I expected from this brand. Specifically, the (lack of) housekeeping needs to be addressed. After a 12hr drive, a guest shouldn't be told to go to the front desk for additional bathroom linens nor should they have to KEEP GOING TO THE FRONT DESK for linens each day! Additionally, the housekeepers don't mind emptying trash bins in your room but you should not expect to have a freshly made bed if you are staying more than one night. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to someone visiting the area.

I preface this review with the statement that I stay at IHG hotels on a regular basis and this particular stay was for two nights. My friend and I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Dumfries hotel on July 21st to the 23rd and was really disappointed. The first issue that I had was that I was injured and I requested an extra pillow to prop up my ankle and was told by the front desk that they were out. I was surprised to find a hotel out of pillows in the entire facility. Second, I get a knock on the door after the first night being asked if I was supposed to check out. I'm not halfway into my stay and this happens. Third the vast majority of the white towels were not thoroughly cleaned because we could still see staining on them. Finally my checkout was scheduled for 11:30am. I not only get a knock on the door but also the housekeeper proceeded to open the door not once but twice before 11:30. I felt rushed and unappreciated as a guest at this hotel and left comments and contact information at the front desk for the general manager to contact me. No one has reached out and I am inclined to discontinue patronage to IHG hotels. The hotel in Quantico/Stafford off Salisbury is a much better location for service and accommodations. I am expecting someone to reach out to me concerning this matter.

At first thought my room was clean until I walked into the bathroom, there was urine dried up on the toilet seat and was not clean. As I went into the bed I’ve seen hair on the bed, which is disgusting. Everyone was nice but the cleaning crew was not. While my family and I were in our room a cleaner had barged in she didn’t even knock. She was pointing at a towel on the floor talking in Spanish, then she left. We could’ve been changing. Really weird and creepy.

The front desk clerk Iesha was so polite! She handled everything with care an gratitude. She made sure we had everything we needed. I will most definitely stay here again if everyone is polite an caring as Iesha

I had such a great experience your co worker Iesha was lovely she helped me with multiple tasks and never made me feel i was a bother or a burden and she let me know about the upcoming updates and events that was coming up i loved my whole experience there and overall i had a great time !!
