We had a one-night stay in Moffat on our way home from a holiday in the Highlands. We decided to have dinner here and were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant has a very traditional and old-fashioned little dining room with friendly staff and delicious food. The pies, desserts, and wine were all excellent and flavorful. The prices were also very reasonable. It's a humble spot with a talented chef serving up a simple yet tasty menu. Great job!
A group of six friends, all members of Birmingham Advanced Motorcyclists, stayed at the Annandale Arms for two nights after their annual tour of Scotland. The first night they dined at Spice India, located near the Annandale, and found it to be the worst and least authentic Indian meal they had ever experienced. On the second night, they decided to eat at the Annandale and were pleased with the freshly cooked, good quality, and reasonably priced food. The atmosphere in the bar before and after the meal was excellent. The highlight of their experience was the exceptional service from Elaine, who seemed to handle the bar, reception, and restaurant front of house duties single-handedly.
Ate here whilst staying nearby and wasn’t disappointed. The food was great (recommend the venison). Dog friendly, and the staff really thought about where to put us. Somewhere out of the way so the dog would settle. Brilliant. Beer was well kept, but wasn’t much ale on when we visited which was a shame
We had a brilliant meal here with excellent food and great professional, friendly staff. We also loved the open mike music night and enjoyed the great atmosphere in the restaurant and the bar. Well worth a visit and we will definitely go back.
