Before I start with the ?, I'll start with ?. Garrett our server was amazing. True there weren't many patrons, but he was very courteous and attentive. The BBQ sauce I had for my ribs was delicious and the Happy Amber beer was tasty. The caesar dressing was pretty good too. Now for the meh ?...The ribs weren't good at all. They are smoked instead of grilled and it definitely makes a difference. My suggestion is they need to be smoked way longer than they are. The meat was extremely tough. I only ate part of it. My fiance had the brisket and it honestly was mostly fat. The $10 candied bacon stated they were thick slices....they were not. It even made my fiance complain and he is normally quiet. The mac and cheese had way too much pepper to the point it wasn't really edible. That was really disappointing. I almost got the greens but found out they aren't homemade so hard pass. The women's bathroom was pretty nasty too. The seat had to be wiped off and they are stingy with the paper towels. And to top it off we spent a lot our time fighting with a fly. He landed on my head and my salad (I was done eating after that). We had a Groupon for their flight tasting which is why we came. Unfortunately we won't be back.
We had the BEST evening last night at Porters! It’s a charming place and has either indoor or outdoor seating in the heart of Dunwoody. The menu and food was out of this world and the menu has a lot of variety! We tried the chef salad, ribs, pulled pork and smoked chicken. We also had a taste treat of their chicken salad. Sides of fried okra and baked beans rounded off our meal. Oh, I forgot we had their cornbread side and delicious bread pudding for dessert! Everything was fresh and the servers said all meats are smoked in house. Also, Porters is planning to start offering in house roasted corned beef soon. I definitely will go back to enjoy this great place and delicious food!
Our server was above and beyond. The flights were great to try, fresh and the recommendations were good to find which beer we like. The food was all full of flavor. Will definitely be back.Vegetarian options: Collard greens do not have pork.Kid-friendliness: Space.
I'm usually pretty positive individual. I can find the silver lining in most things. The bartender was nice and the beer I had was ok. If I had to guess the pork, the sausage, and the fried okra I ordered was probably purchased frozen and warmed up in the back The collard greens weren't edible. I feel bad giving this bad of a review but it is true.
