It didn't stop us from going there on Monday last week and again last Thursday and our tables were suitably separated, being far enough apart to be safe but without our needing to shout. There was a plentiful supply of hand gel at the entrance and we had to give our contact details. We also had to wear a face covering when away from our tables so all necessary safety measures were in place. Unsurprisingly, the main menu is a little limited for the time being but there's a new small plate menu which offered over a dozen options and we took full advantage of the variety available. Excellent value for money doesn't begin to describe it! There's a good range of beers, ciders and wines to choose from, not to mention the huge number of spirits. It was a great shame that, unlike on quiz nights, there were not very many other people in the pub apart from the four of us on both nights as Andy and Nikki deserve all the support they can get at the moment, not that they don't anyway but it's all the more important in the present circumstances. Thanks again to them for making both our visits entirely enjoyable and memorable.
We were struggling to find a pub that offered food on a Sunday evening, and found this on the internet. We were not sure when we arrived, pub was virtually empty we had passed it a few times previously and it never seemed that busy). Pub was basic and old fashioned, and had atmosphere. Food was very good albeit fairly limited. I had an apple and cider cake for desert, homemade, and superb, very light and tasty without being overbearing. Helpful and friendly staff . Good local beers, albeit I was driving so only could have one. This is the sort of pub i say USE IT OR LOOSE IT !!. Note car park is down the road behind the Spar shop and is a council pay car park.
Lovely service and staff, but the journey was made worth while due to the amazing ratatouille served with every dish. Even cold we enjoyed every mouth watering morsel, would visit again.
Three of us had the black stone steak, the steak was amazing and very lean. Great and novel way to cook your steak. My daughter had the burger which was also cooked perfectly. Service was first class, set up well and following the covid rules. We all felt very safe, can’t recommend this pub enough. We will return.
Credit where credit is due. The Husband and I partook of the current eat out to help out incentive last night. Just like the previous week it was so very very busy with the weather doing it’s little bit too. We both had the Texas Chicken from the specials board. Delicious, light and plenty of it. Ideal for a hot day. All the staff should take a bow, from working in a stifling kitchen to managing the vast numbers of customers and the phone ringing off the hook. You all know who you are.
