The Dog And Partridge

Our local pub is now open and under new management. We got back from holiday Monday evening to find them open and serving food. Great news. We went down for dinner and we had an excellent meal. My filet steak was delicious. The atmosphere was warm and cosy. Lovely fire burning. Service was excellent, thank you Tom for a great evening.

Recently reopened, we went along on the monday steak night. It was reasonable for the price paid. There is a better steak restaurant in the area which would probably be £5 more, but you make your choice and pay your money. For a monday this was perfectly reasonable. Service was also friendly and prompt.

I visited for a special birthday; there were 8 in our party including children. What a great pub, lovely atmosphere and decor. The food was delicious I recommend the mackerel or mushroom starter, very generous portions. Main course delicious steak pie, huge cottage pie! Kids had a pizza which was cooked outside in a pizza oven and tasted great fresh basil on the top was a nice touch. We had a birthday cake which the staff brought out and took the time to pop over and say happy birthday. If we are visiting the area again I would definitely rebook. You won’t be disappointed!

The D&P is our go to destination for a couples night out for Food and Drinks. Ryan and Michelle and their staff make you very welcome. The pub has a country feel with log fires and traditional decor. Their bar offers a variety of Gins including my favourite blackberry Gin. Keg and Draft Real ales are available and also a good selection of lagers. Their food menu includes fish , steak, chicken and vegetarian options. We often chose from their special’s food board. The Quality of ingredients is exceptional and the chef is very creative. Always had a great meal and evening out here, would definitely recommend.

A hidden gem, great service and food not too expensive either and our dog was treated like a VIP. Thanks again for your hospitality
