We have returned multiple times specifically for the Gin flight, although we were disappointed that two of the gins did not come with the appropriate garnishes. The bar itself is spotless, however, the restroom facilities could use some improvement. The smell of the toilets was quite off-putting and they were not as clean as we would have liked. My partner mentioned that the men's restroom had a bag on one of the urinals that had been there for over a year. If the restroom facilities were as pristine as the bar itself, we would have given it a 5-star rating. It is unexpected to find subpar restrooms in such a lovely establishment. Despite the restroom issues, we still love this place and the amazing staff.
The bar has a wonderful atmosphere and beautiful decor, making it a great spot to grab a seat even on a busy Saturday.
I visited the restaurant for breakfast. The food was delicious, but the service was awful. Orders were forgotten, we had to wait a long time for sauces at the table, and for the bill. There seemed to be only one person behind the bar and no one on the floor for a significant portion of our visit.
The hotel is fantastic and situated in a prime location for exploring Edinburgh.
The Inn on the Mile is situated in a perfect location nearby, right in the heart of the Royal Mile and just a 15-minute walk from Princes Street, the main shopping area of Edinburgh. Our meal on Friday night was booked at the hotel. The atmosphere in the bar and dining area was completely different. The tables were lit with candles and a display of whisky added a warm glow to the room. The bar was bustling but not overcrowded, and the service was quick. This was not just a bar for the young crowd (although I'm sure they would feel welcome), as there were young couples, small groups of friends, obvious tourists, and even more obvious locals.
