Tony Macaroni - Edinburgh, City of

The Mac cheese my brother had was awful it tasted like it was out a tin. The pizzas weren’t that great either not compared to the braehead restaurant. Won’t be going to this branch again. Puts the restaurant chain to shame.

Early evening meal with my cousin. We shared two starters between us... a bruschetta and an Arancino Carne (traditional Italian rice balls). I then had a linguine all scoglio, while my cousin opted for a pizza. The linguine was very good, no real complaints but my cousin 's pizza was a bit bland, although that was really his own fault for not selecting any additional toppings/s. We then decided to have a pudding course. I chose a sticky toffee pudding. Although this was quite a generous portion, I have to say that it was particularly dry. The whole point of a sticky toffee pudding is to be... well, sticky! This wasn 't. Sticky toffee puddings should be SATURATED with toffee coulis and therefore very moist, sticky and easy to eat. This Tony Macaroni version was dry and so very difficult to eat and enjoy as there was only a dribble of toffee sauce on top and around it. As already mentioned, sticky toffee pudding should be saturated with toffee sauce *all the way through the sponge*... that 's the WHOLE POINT of a sticky toffee pudding. Dining-wise though, I have to say the meal and service were fine except that when the bill arrived it gave a total that included a tip in bold. Although a separate tip-less amount was given underneath, I don 't like presumptive action. I 'd rather work out an appropriate tip myself. The toilets were very clean and smell-free. However, being what some would call 'old fashioned ' I would prefer mens and ladies and not a 'unisex ' mix! Ridiculous. It 's primarily for this reason and the presumption on the bill that I won 't be going back. These last two points have made me decide to deduct a star, and so the final rating has to now be a two-star. A shame.

Absolutely disgusting. Came here on Wednesday, the most disgusting place ever. Food was disgusting. Glasses are dirty, Coke was flat. The starters were okay, not the nicest. For the mains we got a chilli chicken pizza which was absolutely disgusting. Dough was so sick and tasted like ****. Got a go jimmy and was the worst thing ever. Mac n cheese was horrid , underseasoned. Bland and tasted like microwave macaroni. Pizza was also rank. Got a sweet potato burger which was the worst thing ever. Absolutely disgusting it made my cousins wanna throw up. I would never ever visit here again and don’t recommend it!!

We really enjoyed our lunch, a break from shopping. It’s a modern building and laid out like an American diner. Huge menu with loads of choice and I had a really good bowl of pasta and my wife enjoyed her burger. Staff were friendly and efficient. Lots of free parking although the shopping centre does get busy at certain times.

Danny our waiter was amazing! Love this guy! Super attentive, charming, polite, really hope to see him here next time. Food was very quick, excellent quality and tremendous value. We will definitely return. Thanks for a great lunch! First time at TM, certainly not the last. The wife wants to try the Pina Colada next time! x
