Mclarens On The Corner - Edinburgh

Great event for cocktails and wine. The latest version of the menu is usually larger meal times and a little smaller choice. we had a nice time.

We had a lovely lunch, service was great but the heating wasn’t working so super cold.

I have enjoyed visiting McLaren’s on numerous occasions and have previously had a very good experience which is why I recommend it to my friends. However my last visit was spoiled by the air conditioning as it was very cold! Considering the outside temperature was below freezing I do not even know why it was on. It completely spoiled our visit and we were keen to leave. I spoke to the staff about it on three occasions, we moved table but it didn’t help as it was still very cold. We were told they were ‘fiddling’ with the air con and we saw staff adjusting the thermostat at one point but it didn’t help at all. We couldn’t wait to leave and get home to warm up. I felt embarrassed as I’d told my friend that brunch here was a lovely experience. I shall be reluctant to suggest going there again as to me being a comfortable temperature is a pre requisite to enjoying a meal. Such a pity.

Love it here. The staff are always so friendly and accommodating. The food is tasty and the atmosphere is great. And I can bring my furball along for the ride too.

Really enjoyed my first visit to this place with my wee dog (and a couple of friends too. The ambience was lovely, welcoming and cosy but tables at a good distance apart. I chose the ‘Buddha bowl’. Despite often purchasing this type of lunch elsewhere , I was disappointed in the preparation- all raw food and large chunks of carrot using up a lot of the plate (it was not really a bowl? . Luckily my dog likes carrot— because nothing was offered to her, not even water! But still a lovely place with excellent service and I will return (just not order this salad! Also I think maybe there could be a couple of doggie water bowls available (and pointed out to customers . I definitely recommend and already have on FB.
