I 've tried Korean food at other restaurants, and while I like ethnic foods of all kinds, Korean 's generally a bit too far from what I 'm used to to actually like it. So if you like your standard fare of Asian foods without getting into the gamey regions, come here and try the Bi-Bim-Bop with Poolkokee (sp? meat. It 's fabulous. And no, it hasn 't changed. I 'm on the young side of 50 and have been coming here since I was in middle school or high school. For those who wonder what Bi-Bim-Bop is, it 's a carefully sorted mix of vegetables like shredded carrots and Korean delicasies, plus sweet/BBQ Korean beef (the Poolkokee , and a fried egg on top. You mix it all together and add the 'hot ' (not so hot sauce, and you have a bowl of food you can eat with a spoon. Colorful and healthy. Mandarin House is very popular with Northwestern grad students and professors at lunchtime.
Good food! Went here for lunch and had the Bibim Bap with chicken. It was very tasty. Would have given 5 stars if it was served in a hot sizzling bowl.
Not the best food in Evanston (Although overall Evanston severely lacks in quality asian restaurants) but the lunch value cannot be beat. Joy Yees is overpriced and its food is pretty average, although better much more expensive.
Very good food with a nicr cozy feeling to the atmosphere! Would recommend to anyone!
